August 10th: Day Six

Dad, Stu and I went to Hardee’s for breakfast (mmmm… poooork). Then we tried to go see Steven at the courthouse for his first day of court as a cop, but we were all in shorts or tank tops and neither are allowed in the courthouse. (Who knew?)

So we drove around the town again with Connie instead of Hayden as our party. We met up with the rest of the family and went to Central Café for lunch where they have Coney dogs that are just scrumptious and then it was time for Kaden’s nap. I decided to lie down too and then we had leftovers before heading to Battle Park to walk on the trails and the rocks below the dam. There is an old confederate soldier monument and we got to see that too. We had a great time playing at the park but it closes at dusk so we had to make sure we left before then.

I'm posting this because I told Stu if he didn't give me a nice face, I was posting it anyway. :)
Maddy trying to get a signal to send a text message. (And Alli)

Kaden was thrilled to discover that "panno"s came in big sizes too (And were not covered in Pooh and Tigger)
Having some blueberries

My Mom and Kaden up on the bridge at Battle Park.

Steven and Stuart hiking below the dam (I distinctly remember being told NOT to play below a dam, but oh well)

Me below the dam

Brook, Hayden, my Dad, Maddy, Alli, and Steven

See how high the water was on the other side? It was freaky to walk up there and then be eye-level with thousands of gallons of water.

The teensy frog they found.

Real safe...

Hayden, Maddy and I (I look albino next to these practically black children).

Stuart standing where there used to be a concrete soldier but the heads were all knocked off so they took them down. This is what is left of the Confederate soldier monument.

Super-buff Maddawg.

We stopped by Great Grandma and Granddad’s house on the way home and celebrated Granddad Mike’s birthday (with a cake that Brook made). Then we went back to Steven and Connie’s to go to bed.

  1. Aw that looks like so much fun. I bet Grandmom and Granddad totally enjoyed being surrounded by so much family at home, makes me smile. :-)
