This weekend we went to Toys R Us to look for a baby backpack carrier (of course they didn’t have any) and Kaden met the outside play equipment! Who knew that Toys R Us set up play gyms and “houses” that they actually let children play in?!?! So we let him roam and he particularly fancied a “my-size” house and a ride-on motorcycle (in pink and purple). He screamed when it was time to go, but it really was fun letting him play with things I’d never in my right mind buy him! (700 bucks for a plastic toy house? Are you kidding me?)
After breaking his heart by leaving we headed over to IKEA and finally got him a chair that is his size! Just like the clothes my Mom sent, I have never seen a kid get so excited over a plastic red chair before. He got in it and out of it and pushed it around. He sat in it to eat some Cheerios and watch the tube, and then took it to his room to reach things he isn’t supposed to have. All in all it was a great investment.
Other than the typical grocery shopping, we didn’t do a whole lot this weekend (except fret about what to do with our lives as a potential job opportunity reared its ugly head). Stu and I played Wii Fit… Kaden tried to play. And now it is back to the grindstone. I am learning about Ancient Egypt, the Chemistry of cells, and identifying your “real” audience, and Stu is back to work.
Here's the happy little monkey on the new "cool" chair.
